It is important that Hyderabad Unplug is celebrated in a safe and secure environment, so we will not be turning off any of the street lights, lights in hospitals, lights used by emergency services, or any lights in public spaces which would impact public safety. Hyderabad Unplug is about living in a modern world while doing the right thing.

Yes, we want to sustain this event. We view May 03 as one step towards long-term changes people can make to curb their carbon dioxide emissions. All participants are asked to replace older light bulbs during that hour with energy-efficient compact fluorescents that use 75 percent less energy. Additionally, participants will be invited to pledge to take actions that will reduce their energy consumption in the long-term. Corporate partners are asked to identify lasting ways to reduce energy usage, while communicating their commitment to key internal and external audiences.
